After School

As the landscape of learning continues to change, the YMCA remains committed to serving you and your child through extended learning opportunities before school, after school, and the times in between.

Navigating a New Way of Learning

In recent days, local school systems began sharing proposed plans for returning to the classroom.

We know you have questions about how you can work while also supporting your children’s modified schedules and remote learning.

During a typical school year, learning setbacks that students commonly experience over the summer can wipe out one-two months of academic growth. But new studies report that due to COVID-19, learning loss could be much more extreme.

2020-2021 YMCA School Programs

We will continue After School. Options will be more flexible to align with the new school schedules.

Horry and Georgetown County submitted selections about whether they wanted their student to participate in remote or in-person learning. The school system is evaluating submissions and now making class assignments.

But, at the Y, we’re already developing programs to support 2020-21 educational plans. We will email details to current participants and update information here on the website as soon as it is available.┬áTo receive information about YMCA options related to your school system, please fill out this form.
