Swim & Gym
Do you want your child to get physically active and make some new friends?
Our NEW Swim & Gym Program provides an opportunity for children who are homeschooled or virtual learning to come to the Y once a week to develop healthy habits, make new friends, and enjoy new forms of exercise and games! This 4-week program is designed to allow kids to sample a wide-variety of sports, learn water safety and swim skills, and other activities throughout the year. We focus on teaching the fundamental skills and rules of the game while instilling the YMCA core values of honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility.
Weekly classes are broken into 2 segments, PE & swimming, each lasting 45 minutes in duration. Each week, we will focus on a different skill such as a particular sport or general fitness skills like strength, cardio, and flexibility. During the swim portion, participants will receive 20 minutes of swim or water safety instruction and 20 minutes of recreational swim.
Program offered for ages 5-14.
2:45-3:00pm: change and pick-up
*gym doors will close after 1:15pm and any late arrivals will be asked to wait until 1:45 before joining program to avoid distractions and interruptions to the class
**pick-up must be before 3:00pm to avoid late fees of $1/minute per child
