DISCRIPTIONS OF EACH CAMP!

Forts, Fire, and Finding Your Way

Campers will venture deep into the woods where they will learn to survive and make a shelter. Along the way, they will learn about native plants, how to identify different types of trees, make lunch over a fire, establish a basic understanding of various knot tying skills, how to prepare wood, and safe building techniques. Campers will work together to create the ultimate fort!

Down to Earth

Discover all the different ways to go green and make better choices for our environment. Campers will create art out of recycled materials and make recycled paper. Using recycled soda bottles, campers will create terrariums. Do you have a lot of old run-down crayons? Bring them in! We will turn them into new crayons

Marine Biology – TBD

Explore the many wonders of the marine world surrounding up! Campers are immersed in marine ecology, oceanography, and conservation of the natural world. Campers will get to dissect a cool creature, explore the sea underworld, and visit Ripley’s Aquarium.

Secret Agent

Are you ready to dive into the thrilling world of criminal justice? Join us for an action-packed camp designed for young sleuths and aspiring detectives.

Invention Convention

Explore your architectural and engineering potential along with your creativity through a variety of introductory STEAM-based challenges. We have the blueprint for summer camp success! Mad Scientist

During this action-packed camp, kids safely explore chemistry. With spectacular hands-on activities and amazing demonstrations, kids will both learn and apply the concepts, tools, and techniques of real chemists. Limited to 12 participants, this camp goes from 8:00am – 12:30pm each day.  Campers will fish a variety of freshwater sites around the YMCA and greater Georgetown County.  YMCA fishing expert Dexter Floyd leads the camp.

Perfect for Teens (ages 12-15) with a Passion for Inspiring Others!

Our leadership development program is designed to equip teens with the skills and knowledge necessary to interact and communicate successfully with individuals and provide them with the tools they need to lead groups of all ages in a fun and safe environment. 

We strive to create strong bonds with our LITs through team-building activities, creative problem-solving, service projects in our community, training workshops, and shadowing our head counselors while assisting in leading groups.

MAGIC FOR MUGGLES:

Your acceptance letter has arrived, inviting you to delve into a week filled with magical fun!

We will kick off our summer with our Sorting Ceremony where each camper will be placed in their new “House/Huddle” amidst the cheering and anticipation of their peers.

Campers will attend workshops to hone their skills in crafting their own wands, mixing scientific potions, playing Quidditch, exploring nature, and more!

Campers are encouraged to showcase our four core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility throughout the week to earn points for their houses, fostering camaraderie and a spirited sense of rivalry among the campers as they compete for the “House Cup”!

WILDERNESS EXPLORERS

“Where Adventure Comes to Life! Make new friends while discovering the great outdoors!”

This week campers will have a fantastic time using nature as inspiration to create unique pieces of art. They will explore the outdoors through scavenger hunts, discovering different elements of nature along the way. Additionally, there are opportunities to learn about the local ecosystem, design and make their own maps of the camp, and even craft bird feeders to help support local wildlife. It’s an amazing blend of creativity and environmental education!

THROWBACK

Join us for a vibrant celebration centered around your favorite decades!

Dress up in super cool outfits from the 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, and your future occupation. Each day, we’ll pick a “best dressed” camper who’s rocking their look and showcasing the fashion and flair of the era you love most, and then it’s time to dance the day away!

Break out the tie-dyes and let the nostalgia take over as we embrace the music, style, art, and spirit of those unforgettable times in history.

Dive into a week full of wet and wild fun!

Campers will explore exciting water-based art, science, and outdoor play. Get ready for exhilarating water balloon wars and thrilling water relays that will have everyone splish-splashing from start to finish! Get ready to kick off Spirit Week with fun daily themes including “Backwards Shirt Day”, “Dress as Your Favorite Counselor Day”, “Wacky Tacky Wednesday”, “Crazy Hair Day”, and “Pajama Day”.

Teamwork is key as it’s your chance to embody our core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility while you participate in games, team chants, sing your hearts out, dance like nobody’s watching, and work together with your group to prove that your group has the most camp spirit.

This is your chance to engage in a dynamic blend of chaos and STEAM. This week encourages creativity, teamwork, and a willingness to get messy in a lively, hands-on environment.

Campers will immerse themselves in creative activities featuring vibrant paints and glitter, exploring the wonders of STEM with thrilling experiments, collaborating to invent and create unique projects, and joining their friends for an exhilarating Color War.

Camp hours are M-F from 7:00 am-6:00 pm.

Drop-off 7-9am. Pick up is 3-6pm.

Camp will be located on the campuses of…

Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church at 9967 Ocean Hwy and Lowcountry Prep 300 Blue Stem Dr in Pawleys Island.

Day camp is for ages 5-13 years old.

Day Camp Fees:

$35 Non-refundable registration fee per camper ($50 after May 1) 

$165 per week per camper for members/$300 per for non-members
$25 non-refundable or transferable deposit per camper due at registration for each reserved week. Remaining balance will be drafted one week prior to camp

2-week notice required for all cancellations or full camp balance will be drafted. No refunds or credits.

Frequently Asked Questions for Pawleys Camp:

What should my camper wear to camp?

Active/athletic clothing & closed-toe shoes that can get dirty or wet.

What should my camper bring to camp?

Wear and pack sunscreen, wear swimsuit on water days and swim days, pack towel, bring lunch & water bottle. Pack a change of clothes. Label EVERYTHING! Siblings should pack separate bags and lunches daily.

Do campers bring a lunch and snack?

Morning and afternoon snack will be provided at the Pawleys location. Campers will need to bring a lunch box daily.

What should my camper NOT bring to camp?

Any electronic devices, personal toys/trading cards, makeup, craft items, or anything of high value. Selling items is not allowed. Please no gum or candy.

What is the camper to staff ratio?

1 counselor to every 10-15 campers (varies by age group).

When are field trips?

Field trips like bowling, skating, Top Golf, etc., will be communicated at a later date. Campers will travel to the Y to swim at least twice a week.
