Member & Guest Code of Conduct
To ensure a safe, enjoyable environment, the YMCA of Coastal Carolina asks that all members, guests, volunteers, and participants act in a responsible and respectful manner toward other people, equipment, and YMCA facilities.
The YMCA reserves the right to revoke access for any person who does not demonstrate behavior consistent with our core values or whose conduct negatively interferes with the experience of other members, guests, or staff.
Our YMCA team asks for your support in helping foster an environment that is welcoming to our diverse and vibrant community. Together, we create a safe space where people of every background have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
As a condition of membership and participation, all members and guests agree to:
Respect Others
- Treat all members, guests, and staff with dignity and respect.
- No harassment, intimidation, bullying, threats, or inappropriate language.
- Follow staff instructions at all times.
Maintain a Safe Environment
- No physical violence or disruptive behavior.
- No weapons, illegal drugs, alcohol misuse, smoking, or vaping on YMCA property.
- Use equipment and facilities properly and safely.
Protect Youth
- The YMCA has zero tolerance for child abuse or inappropriate conduct.
- Parents/guardians are responsible for supervising children unless enrolled in a YMCA program.
- Report safety concerns immediately to YMCA staff.
Respect Privacy
- No photography or video recording in locker rooms or restrooms.
- Cell phone use must not interfere with others’ privacy or safety.
Dress Appropriately
- Family-friendly attire required.
- Athletic shoes required in fitness areas.
- Appropriate swimwear required in aquatic areas.
