COVID-19 Update

UPDATED 5/12/2020

Dear Valued YMCA Member,

Our Y has served the community for more than 37 years, during which we have made it through many challenging times together, none perhaps as impactful for our community and our Y as this COVID crisis.  After closing our facilities on March 19th due to safety concerns surrounding the spread of COVID-19, we will are thrilled to announce that we will be reopening facilities at 7AM on Monday, May 18th.

In preparation for reopening facilities, we are following guidelines from health experts and local officials to ensure all components of facilities meet the highest standards for hygiene and safety.  We have also modified policies and programs to facilitate safe social/physical distancing practices.  Finally, we want to thank those of you that completed the survey.  Your input is valuable and was taken into consideration with the revisions for Phase 1.

Here are some of the adjustments to expect during the first phase of reopening:

  • Staff & members will have temperature taken immediately upon entering the facility
  • Members will be limited to a one-time, 60-minute visit per day
  • Guests will not be permitted
  • Members & staff must maintain minimum of 6 feet distance
  • Staff will be wearing personal protective equipment
  • When feasible, members should wear cloth face coverings when around others
  • Workout time(s) will be limited on all cardio equipment
  • Land-based Group Exercise classes will be limited and modified
  • Pool will be open for individual exercise only (i.e. lap swimming, water walking, etc.)
  • Reservations are strongly encouraged for classes and for pool lanes, click here for details
  • Only the Family Locker Rooms will be open with no access to showers
  • Coffee/water services will not be available
  • Open play in gymnasium will not be available
  • Child Watch and Programs may reopen in Phase 2
  • Click here for the full list of changes during Phase 1 of our reopening

Our Y has always been more than a building.  Our Y is about people – people from all backgrounds and walks of life who come together to improve their lives, raise their families and strengthen community.  We are so incredibly grateful to the people who have stayed with us throughout these challenging times.  You were here for your community when it needed it most, and we remain here for you.

Thank you for your continued support.

Regular exercise is one component of a healthy lifestyle that can help reduce stress and prevent illness. While we would love to see you at the Y, we honor and respect each individual’s choice with regard to your health during this time. If you are unable to join us at one of our facilities, we have a variety of at-home exercise options for members.
